The host project we present is a project for a volunteer, and the participating countries can be any of the European community. The activity of the volunteer will be developed in Pamplona, ​​capital of Navarra, and will last 9 months, from October 1st, 2019 to June 30th, 2020.

The host organization is Oxfam Intermón. We are an NGO of people who want to build a future without poverty struggling against its causes. For this we act in a comprehensive manner: We cooperate in development projects, we act in emergencies, we promote awareness campaigns and social mobilization, and we promote fair trade.

We have been working In Pamplona for more than 25 years and we are around 40 voluntary people supporting the fair trade store, social mobilization activities, the education for a global citizenship program, communication, emergencies, networking with other NGOs, etc.

We are looking for a volunteer from outside our country to join the team, which will enrich us and will be a new motivation to share and reinforce spaces of coexistence, fostering mutual learning, the knowledge of other ways of working and acting, and the respect for different cultures.

The activities that will be carried out within the project are those that volunteers are already doing here. Their incorporation to all of them will be gradual according to their formation and interests. These activities are:

-Campaigns of social mobilization: Diffusion and promotion of our awareness campaigns, social mobilization and political advocacy through actions and activities in the city (street events, film forums, festivals, round tables, etc.) based on a local strategy designed as a team.

-Communication and media: Adaptation of press releases, relation with the local media, support in social networks, etc.

-Fair Trade: Fair Trade store maintenance and management, external sales activities and fair trade awareness, preparation of events, etc.

-Education for development: diffusion of our educational proposals among the school teachers, organization of meetings and events.

-Captation in emergencies: Dissemination to companies and media.

-Networks in consortium with other entities: Collaborate with other organizations, groups and social movements to promote networking among the various social agents.

-Updated and specialized training on current affairs and the topics that are being worked on. Participation in interterritorial volunteer meetings.

We will give to the volunteer the opportunity to get integrated into a voluntary work environment that will reinforce their social concerns and will be aware that the sum of many small wills can generate great changes. The incorporation of a European volunteer will help us into the daily activities already programmed and in the creation and promotion of the agenda of new actions to be carried out, in accordance with the philosophy of the organization and its lines of action.
